Hello everyone, and welcome to the Memorial Day Edition of the Monday Link Review. While we here State-side are relaxing and having a BBQ, we didn’t want our fans overseas to miss out on this week’s links. So sit back, grab a burger off the grill and enjoy.

From the “Big Brother” files comes a patent application from IBM to have traffic lights remotely kill your engine at a red light in order to save fuel.

Our next story comes to us from out in space, where Solar Physicists are saying that the Sun has been behaving a litle odd recently.

Next, in a rare Human Interest Story about engineers, Yahoo recently profiled Matt Green, a Civil Engineer from New York who is in the process of walking across the country.

And finally this week, a story that caught our eye in the wake of the series finale of LOST last week, the first ever Polar/Grizzly Bear Hybrid was found in the wild this week. No truth to the rumor that it was found stumbling around Tunisia.

Good afternoon loyal readers! Having just started his new job at a local Air Force Base, Craig needed the week off. In his stead, we’ve decided to give you a look at The Best of Craig the Rocket Scientist, a list of his 10 most popular articles. So sit back, relax, and enjoy a look back at some vintage Craig.

10. History of the Space Shuttle Part II – In his second article looking back on the soon to be decommissioned Space Shuttle, Craig took a look at Richard Nixon and the origins of the Space Shuttle.

9. Craig the Rocket Scientist, In House Software and You – In this post from October, 2009 Craig the Rocket Scientist complains about the inefficiencies of software, and the efficacy of banging his head on his desk. *THUD*

8. Craig the Rocket Scientist Proves that Santa Claus is RealTired of people trying to scientifically prove that The-Big-Man-Up-North doesn’t exist, Craig uses Quantum Superposition to prove the possibility of Santa’s existence in this very special Holiday Edition.

7. Craig the Rocket Scientist Admits it: Engineers are Weird – Spurred on by his own wife calling him weird, Craig embraces his inner nerd and details some of his favorite Aerospace books.

6. Craig the Rocket Scientist’s Top Inventions of 2009 – In his final post of last year, Craig takes a look at some of the coolest new toys that came out in ‘09.

5. Craig the Rocket Scientist, Ben Affleck and the Ares 1-X - Craig gives an inside look at the launching of the Ares 1-X last year while making his case for Armageddon being the greatest movie of all time.

4. Craig the Rocket Scientist vs. The Conspiracy Theorists – After his post on the LCROSS lunar impact gave rise to a discussion on whether or not the Moon Landing was faked, Craig refutes many of the conspiracy theories in order to prove the landing was real.

3. Craig the Rocket Scientist, International Peace Ambassador – Craig looks at how collaborating with some of the foreign space powers can positively impact NASA as he pleas with the world to just “give peace a chance.”

2. Craig the Rocket Scientist and the AIAA – In this post from September of 2009, Craig explains the importance of professional societies and whether or not they truly are worth the membership fees.

And the number one, most popular Craig the Rocket Scientist article is….

1. What Makes an Engineer? – In only his second post for K-Exchange, Craig dissects what truly makes him an engineer; a degree, a PE, or is it something else?

Craig the Rocket Scientist will return next week with a look at Spy Satellites and Amateur Astronomers.
