Try Knovel’s New Databases
As an engineer, the content you need is very specific, technical and yes–usually hard to find. But as always, we’ve got your back.
Our new Knovel databases address gaps in convenient access to authoritative engineering data. The first two databases, Magnesium Alloy and Optical and Filter Glass, include highly interactive tables, graphs and data compiled from authoritative sources. You now have access to these two exclusive databases through January 31st. Both databases are discoverable via Knovel’s Data Search and aim to facilitate improved material selection in product design. Discover these essential new tools today.
Want to Know More? Here’s the skinny:
Magnesium Alloy Database. Developed by J. Gilbert Kaufman, this database covers properties of magnesium alloys and is of particular interest to automotive and aerospace engineers who are facing growing pressure to identify new ways of lowering fuel loads and consumption. Available after January 31st to subscribers of the Metals and Metallurgy subject area at no extra cost.
Optical and Filter Glass Database. This database includes properties such as Abbe number, Refractive index, Dispersion data, and Transmittance curves of commercially-available optical and filter glasses from 16 manufacturers around the world. This database is valuable to design engineers, QA engineers, and optical engineers working for airplane, equipment, biomedical device and electronics manufacturers and in the aerospace and defense industry. Available after January 31st to subscribers of Optics & Photonics and Ceramics & Ceramic Engineering subject areas at no extra cost.
Want to find these databases on Knovel? Here’s how:
Login to Knovel and search “Magnesium Alloy Database” or “Optical and Filter Glass Database” within the free search tool. You can also find the databases within their respective subject areas: Magnesium Alloy is within the Metals and Metallurgy Subject Area; the Optical and Filerglass Database is under the Optics and Photonics subject area.
